OSRS Fishing Guide For RuneScape Members

Jun 27

Fishing isn’t exactly the fastest 99 but it is a skill that can be done primarily through AFK gameplay, depending on the method you end up choosing. In this OSRS Fishing Guide, we will be summing up what is considered to be some of the most popular and fast ways to reach level 99 fishing in Old School Runescape while also keeping your OSRS Gold flow steady with these methods as well!

OSRS P2P Fishing Guide

Fishing is one of the most lucrative skills to train early on since you can make money by killing Dark Crabs or Sharks. The updated Shift Drop update makes it much more AFK and less clicking intensive than before.

Level 1 to 20 Fishing

Fishing equipment: small fishing net

Shrimps are small and can be caught with a net. You'll earn 10 experience points per catch at level 15 fishing, but you also have the chance to get 40 exp for anchovies when your skill is high enough! It will take 252 shrimps or 206 total fish catches (including 52 anchovy catches) before reaching level 20 in OSRS.

Level 20 to 58 Fishing

Fishing equipment: Fly Fishing rod

From levels 20, you unlock the ability to fish trout using fly fishing. This is by far the fastest way to get from level 58 or higher in OSRS for Fishing without wasting time on training urchins and lobsters that won't be as helpful with leveling up your skillset. From 30 onwards, every salmon will give me 70 experience while every trout gives 50 points - which means it's worth catching both!

Level 58 to 99 Fishing

Fishing equipment: Heavy Fishing Rod

Barbarian fishing is a way to level up your fishing skills quickly, but it is not an option for making money. This method of training teaches you how to catch leaping salmon at level 58 and sturgeon starting at 64. When catching these fish, drop the ones that are worth more than 20 GP in order to maximize experience while saving inventory space (bank use with this skill isn't possible).

Once you reach level 70 fishing, leaping sturgeon will start to appear and grant more experience than other catches. A salmon grants 70 XP per catch while a leaping sturgeon grants 80 XP per catch! With barbarian fishing also granting strength and agility experience as an added bonus this is the best way to train your fishing skill in OSRS.

OSRS Fishing Guild

You can enter the fishing guild in Old School Runescape from level 68 Fishing. The fishing guild contains a bank, swordfish/tuna fish spots, sharks fish spots, and minnows platforms are located here. An admiral pie will boost your fishing levels by 5 meaning you can enter the Guild at Level 63 with its help.
